Visa Lighting's Integration of BIM

Visa Lighting recognized the need for providing our products in a BIM (Building Information Management) format.  Many architectural, design and contractor firms are adopting 3D Modeling for developing and communicating their projects.  For those not yet using this approach, “BIM” is a method for using parametric and associative 3D models to manage the development of new construction and remodel.  Inclusive of the 3D model is important Meta-data that the software can use to populate any number of build schedules and reports relating to the project at hand.  This includes energy management, HVAC calculations, lighting calculations, LEED, and so on.  From a design perspective, the software can also assist in rendering and creating virtual walk-throughs.  An important benefit lies in making decisions.  BIM allows the team of professionals the ability to make changes and evaluate the impact of decisions in an interactive way.  Most BIM programs offer methods to track changes along the course of development and deploy these changes to the various professionals and craftsmen who make these concepts reality.

Visa Lighting has targeted Autodesk “Revit” ™ as the software program we are initially supporting.  We intend on updating these files with improvements as we receive feedback from those people who really matter – you!  Please contact our Applications and Sales personnel with suggestions at 1-800-788 VISA or contact us via our website: Contact Visa
