BIM Updates
Visa Lighting's partnership with BIMWorld.com resulted in Visa Lighting Revit files in the AutoDesk Seek database and the development of our 3D Models in Microstation Bentley. Bentley models will soon be available alongside Revit and Sketch Up files on
product pages, on a Bentley Model CD, and as a complete catalog download.
The recent collaboration with Architectural Lighting on an editorial feature in the June 2008 Product Guide edition expanded the public's awareness of Visa Lighting's involvement in the technological development of 3D models. View the article online or download a copy here.
As noted in the article, file sharing between BIM programs is impossible without reformatting models. This inefficiency in software design is the driving force behind the development of Visa Lighting models in different programs, Revit, Sketch Up, Bentley and AGi32. But, model development is just the beginning. Maintenance of models is an ongoing process. Keeping current with product improvements and with software upgrades ensures that Visa Lighting's Model Library is an up-to-date resource. Currently, we are updating our families to Revit 2009 to take advantage of the new features of the program. Updated files will display a light source glow when rendered, providing a photo realistic image of the project.
We are impressed to see the use of our models in "virtual space" designs and are building a library of project renderings to display on our website. If you have a project file complete with Visa products, we would be happy to include your image in this collection. Please contact us for more information.
